F. A. Q.

(Frequently asked questions regarding the Washlet seat.)

Q1. How is the Washlet seat installed?
A1.

Plumbing:
Installing the Washlet merely involves the removal and tightening of screws and such, so anyone can install the seat. An instruction manual is included with the Washlet, so please read it carefully and follow the instructions. Otherwise, if you feel uncomfortable installing the Washlet yourself, you should hire a plumber

Electrical:
The Washlet seat requires electricity to operate, but most American homes do not have electrical outlets near the toilet. An extension cord can be used or you may hire an electrician to create a new outlet opening near the toilet.

Q2. Does the Washlet fit on any toilet?
A2. The Washlet model that you choose may not fit on the toilet in your home, so it is important to double check whether the Washlet seat and toilet will match. The Matsushita NAiS631 model fits on more toilet models than any other Washlet seat. However, often there are cases where no Washlet model will fit because the toilet is a one-piece model. In such a case, you will need to replace the toilet as well. For more detailed information, please call our toll-free number and we will help you determine which Washlet models will fit on your toilet.

Q3. What do "round" and "elongated" mean?
A3.

"Round" and "elongated" refer to the shape of the toilet bowl. More specifically, this is determined by the length of the bowl (length A in the picture).

Length A Bowl Type
Approx. 19-3/16 in. Round
Approx. 20-1/4 in. Elongated

Q4.

What colors are available?

A4. TOTO Washlets are available in Cotton White, Colonial White, and Sedona Beige. All other brands are only available in white.

Q5. I am currently renting an apartment. Is it possible for me to take the Washlet with me when I move?
A5.

Yes. Simply remove the Washlet in opposite fashion than when you installed it. Of course, you will have to replace the original toilet seat before moving out of your apartment.

Q6. How hard is it to clean the washlet?
A6.

Washlet seats are not much more difficult to clean than regular toilet seats. Unlike regular toilet seats, Washlet seats and covers are easily removable, so they can be cleaned easilty and more thoroughly. Just follow the directions in the user's manual to remove the seat and cover and wipe them down.
